Arthouse is a small, independent salon in Burnley, created by Holly and Gaby for people who want more than a quick appointment. Warm, luxurious, considered and personal — this is hair, make-up and beauty work with the client at the centre of it.
Opened in 2017 with a shared aim: to change what people expect from a salon.
A small salon close to the town centre, now known for its warm and personal feel.
Not just a service. A relaxed, welcoming, considered appointment from start to finish.
The consultation, the plan, the result and the aftercare are all built around you.
Arthouse began with Holly and Gaby wanting to create the kind of salon they believed Burnley deserved — somewhere luxurious but not intimidating, warm but still professional, relaxed but never careless.
When they opened the salon in 2017, the aim was simple: shake up the perception of what a salon is. Not a quick transaction. Not a conveyor belt. Not somewhere you sit down, get rushed through, and leave without feeling properly listened to.
Instead, Arthouse was built around the full appointment. The welcome. The conversation. The consultation. The result. The products used. The advice given afterwards. Every part matters, because every person who walks through the door is different.
That belief still sits at the heart of the salon today. Whether you are visiting for hair, semi-permanent make-up, bridal work, scalp support or products to use at home, the approach is the same: considered, honest and centred around you.
Holly and Gaby opened Arthouse in Burnley with a clear founding idea: create a salon that felt luxurious, warm and welcoming while keeping the experience centred around the client.
The salon grew around a simple promise — to care as much about how an appointment feels as the finished result. That meant thoughtful consultations, honest advice and a space where everyone feels welcome.
Today, Arthouse brings together hair, semi-permanent make-up, bridal, scalp care and professional products under one roof, with the same owner-led standard running through everything.
The original Arthouse values still shape how the salon works. They are simple, but they matter: be welcoming, love the work, and keep moving forward.
Everyone is welcome at Arthouse. The aim is for every client to feel greeted properly, listened to properly and comfortable from the moment they arrive.
The team genuinely loves the work — and that shows in the consultation, the attention to detail, the quality of the finish and the way clients are treated.
Arthouse has always been forward-thinking, from trying new ideas to choosing professional ranges and products that fit the salon’s standards and values.
“We don’t want people to think of Arthouse as just somewhere they book a service. We want every appointment to feel like time that has been properly set aside for them.” That is the thinking behind the consultation-first approach, the calm appointment style, the product choices, and the way the team is trained.
Arthouse is not built to feel like a high-volume salon. It is personal, owner-led and detail-focused. The difference is in the way the team listens first, plans properly and treats every appointment as its own thing.
Holly and Gaby are not names above the door — they are central to the salon, the services and the standard clients experience.
Hair, brows, lips, bridal or scalp concerns — the starting point is always a proper conversation before the work begins.
The space is designed to feel luxurious, cosy and welcoming, so clients can relax without feeling out of place.
The team works with brands and product ranges they genuinely trust, including professional haircare, treatment and smoothing systems.
The salon keeps the team considered, trained and consistent, so the standard does not get lost as the business grows.
The goal has always been to make the Arthouse experience feel special without making it feel out of reach.
Arthouse is shaped by the people behind every chair. Holly leads the hair side of the salon, bridal hair, trichology and editorial work. Gabrielle leads semi-permanent make-up, bridal make-up and natural-looking treatments shaped around the individual face.
Behind them is a small team trained to carry the same standard: thoughtful consultation, careful work and honest guidance.
Whether you know exactly what you want or you need help working it out, Arthouse starts with the conversation. Hair, make-up, bridal, scalp care or products — we’ll guide you properly.
