Continuing Care

Aftercare advice, recommended products and a standing welcome between appointments.

Hair work, done properly.

Hair is personal. The cut you ask for isn't always the cut that's going to suit you, and the colour you've seen on someone else won't always sit on your skin tone the same way. That's why every appointment at Arthouse starts the same way — with a proper conversation, before anything else.

Holly has spent over a decade learning what works and what doesn't, and she trains the team to the same standard. Whether you're in for a maintenance trim or a full colour transformation, the result is built around you — and the products and techniques we use are chosen to look after your hair long after you've left the salon.

No. 01 — The headline service
Kevin Murphy COLOR.ME

Colour, built around you.

From sun-kissed balayage to rich brunettes, glossing colours to full grey coverage — every colour at Arthouse is mixed bespoke to suit your skin tone, your hair condition and the way you want it to grow out.

We work with Kevin Murphy's COLOR.ME range — a free-from formula that delivers vivid, long-lasting results without compromising hair health.

What We Offer

What To Expect

A full colour consultation, a strand test if you're new to us, and time taken to get the formula right before anything goes on.

No. 02 — Precision cutting

Cut and styling.

From wash-and-finish maintenance trims to full restyles, every cut starts with the same thing — looking at how your hair actually falls, and shaping the cut to work with it rather than against it.

Blow-dries and styling are charged separately if you'd prefer to head off with damp hair — or include the full finish for the complete reset.

Best For

Refreshing your current style, growing out a previous cut, or starting fresh with something completely new.

Specialist Areas

Layered cuts, curtain bangs, soft fringes, modern bobs, and grown-out grooming for fine or thinning hair.

No. 03 — Length & volume

Hair extensions.

Whether you're after a little extra length, more volume than your own hair can give you, or fullness through a specific area — extensions are entirely customisable, colour-matched in salon and fitted with the longevity of your natural hair in mind.

A full consultation is required before any application so we can recommend the right method, colour and length for your goals.

Methods

Tape-in, nano ring and weft methods available — each suited to different hair types, lifestyles and maintenance preferences.

Quality

100% Remy human hair, ethically sourced, and treated to last with the right at-home routine and salon maintenance.

No. 04 — Smoothing & shine
Keratin Revolution

Keratin treatments.

A smoothing treatment that transforms how your hair behaves — sealing the cuticle, reducing frizz and adding lasting shine. Ideal for thick, coarse, frizzy or unruly hair, and curl types from wavy to tight.

Results last up to six months with the right aftercare, and the treatment is suitable for coloured and chemically-treated hair when applied correctly.

The Result

Visibly smoother, healthier-looking hair that's easier to style, faster to dry, and behaves itself in humidity.

Longevity

Three to six months depending on hair type, wash frequency, and the products you use at home.

Do I need to book a consultation before my first appointment?
For straightforward cuts and trims, you can book directly. For colour services, extensions and keratin treatments — particularly if you're new to us — we recommend a quick consultation first. It means we can recommend the right service, give you accurate pricing and, where needed, run a patch test.
Do you do a patch test for colour?
Yes — a patch test is required at least 48 hours before any colour service if you're a new client, or if it's been more than six months since your last colour with us. It's a quick visit but an essential one for your safety.
How long do colour services take?
It depends on the service and your hair, but as a rough guide: a root touch-up is around 1.5 hours, a full head colour 2–2.5 hours, highlights 2.5–3.5 hours, and a balayage with full styling can take 3–4 hours. We'll always give you a clear time estimate when booking.
Can you fix colour that's gone wrong elsewhere?
In most cases, yes — but corrective colour requires an in-person consultation first. We'll assess what's happening, talk through what's possible and what isn't, and give you honest pricing before anything goes on your hair. Photos by email or WhatsApp first are welcome.
How long do keratin treatments last?
Three to six months on average, depending on your hair type, how often you wash, and the products you use at home. We'll give you a full aftercare guide and recommend a sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner to extend the results.
Do extensions damage your hair?
Not when they're fitted properly and maintained on schedule. The methods we use are designed to be gentle on your natural hair, and we'll always give you honest advice about whether extensions are the right choice for your hair type — if they're not, we'll tell you.
What if I'm running late?
Give us a call or send a quick message — life happens. We'll do our best to fit you in, but if you're more than 15 minutes late we may need to reschedule depending on what's booked after you.
Do you charge a deposit?
For longer services (colour, extensions, keratin) we ask for a small deposit at booking, redeemable against your appointment. This helps us hold the time and prevents no-shows. Full deposit and cancellation details are shared when you book.
